14wks 6days - Flutterings??!

For the past 3 days I've started to feel what occassionally feels like flutterings. I notice them usually when I'm still and it feels kind of like a muscle spasm but in the tummy area and usually in the same spot and then maybe moves to another spot. It's really kind of exciting. I can't wait until Brad can feel kicks from the outside.

With Michael...he was due June 28th and I felt kicks w/ him for the 1st time on January 14th. Those kicks were big enough to feel when you laid your hand on my tummy. So, I figure I was about 16.5wks with him...so small flutterings would make sense if they are starting now.

Anyways, Xmas was great and what a whirlwind as usual. Brad and I were so wiped out that we went to bed at 8pm last night!!

I listened to the baby's heartbeat last night and found it fairly quickly...each time I seem to find it quicker. Last night I got a digital reading of between 158-162bpm. It's such a GREAT sound to hear!!

14wks 2days - My fetal heart doppler arrived!!!!

UPS showed up at 1pm and I couldn't have run to the door faster!!

I ripped open the box and tried it out immediately. At first I started to freak out a little because I found the heartbeat immediately, but my digital display was saying between 98-110bpm and I knew that was way too slow...well I kept searching around and finally heard a few seconds of a MUCH faster heart rate and realized the first hb I heard was my own...der!

I had to chase her down a few times...but it was a beautiful noise and I called Brad on speaker so he could hear. Then I called Donna and she started crying in Macy's. LOL! She'd never heard a baby's heartbeat before...so she was thrilled.

I think I'll bust it out again tonight so I can show Brad...it's just such a beautiful noise and soo worth the $45/mo for reassurance.

12wks3dys - More Belly shots!

I'm definitely starting to get more poochy...isn't it GREAT?!

1/2 a week to go until we hit the 2nd trimester....wow!

Our u/s appointment is at 2pm and our OB appointment is at 4pm today.

I have to admit...I'm excited and scared to death.

Brad thinks I'm being silly and negative...but I guess when you are used to bad news at ultrasounds...it's to be expected. I just really want things to be good and to let this sink in and really start to enjoy it. I'm tired of feeling oddly guilty when I do think about it and get excited.

We leave 1st thing tomorrow morning to visit Bill (Brad's dad) in FL for a long weekend...and he could really use some good news...a nice pick me up. He's undergoing chemo again and it's been really mean to him. Hopefully I'll be able to add another beautiful picture to this post!

Edit: We are back and the ultrasound was amazing!! Julie (the u/s tech) said we were far along enough to do an abdominal u/s even though my bladder was empty and we saw the baby immediately. She was moving all around and moving her arms and legs and even arched her back...it was breath taking! At my OB portion we heard the heartbeat for the 1st time...exciting stuff! Baby is measuring 4.83cm and had a heart rate of 162bpm. We are absolutely thrilled!!

Notice on the top picture that you can see the baby's fingers above her face...and on the 2nd picture you can see the spine (white area). What an amazing view of her profile!!
